♫ “Do you remember?  The 21st day of September!”♫   Already singing to yourself? That is what I love about music- how it makes me feel and the memories it evokes.  There are so many great “September” songs…..of course Earth Wind & Fire’s “The 21st Day of September” reigns supreme.  But do you know Lou Reed’s “September Song”? Or, Neil Diamond’s “September Morn” ; The Bangels “September Gurls”; and, Green Day’s “Wake Me Up When September Ends”.

I would hate to miss September at POSTOAK.  Chef starts to add autumn type soups to the lunch buffet. We can lessen the sprinkler use.  The light takes on a softer hue, especially the 30 minutes before sunset.  The oak leaves are trying to turn but just can’t make it…hanging on their green as long as possible!  With all the rain, it is super green out here!  I’m hoping for some warm days and very cool nights come October.  If Mother Nature does her thing, we’ll have spectacular fall color.

Maybe that is one reason we hold our Wine & Jazz Festival over Labor Day- the temperature is just turning, the shadows grow long, and the evenings are perfect for lingering.  We had a great turn-out this year and thank all the attendees for making POSTOAK a part of their Labor Day weekend.

Make it a point to spend some time outdoors this month, and while you’re at it, download some “September” songs on your listening device.  Include “See you in September” by The Happenings! ♫
